Why do my images save as WebP?
Many sites serve their images in WebP, a format created by Google, because it's lighter than JPG at comparable quality. As a result, when you use “Save image as”, you get a .webp file. But some older software, printing tools, document submission platforms, or editing apps still don't accept it. Converting it to JPG solves the problem.
Transparency and quality when converting to JPG
JPG doesn't support transparency: if your WebP has a transparent background (logo, sticker, cutout), it's replaced with white or the color of your choice.
