What is a HEIC file?
Since iOS 11, the iPhone saves photos in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Coding) format, roughly half the size of a JPG at equal quality. The problem: Windows, many websites, and some apps can't open it. Converting it to JPG solves the issue for good.
