There are 11 federal holidays in the United States in 2027: New Year's Day on Friday, January 1; Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18; Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day) on Monday, February 15; Memorial Day on Monday, May 31; Juneteenth on Saturday, June 19, observed Friday, June 18; Independence Day on Sunday, July 4, observed Monday, July 5; Labor Day on Monday, September 6; Columbus Day on Monday, October 11; Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11; Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25; and Christmas Day on Saturday, December 25, observed Friday, December 24. Long weekends in 2027
Most US federal holidays fall on a Monday, which gives a string of three-day weekends in 2027: January 18, February 15, May 31, July 5 (Independence Day observed), September 6 and October 11. Juneteenth and Christmas, observed on Fridays June 18 and December 24, give two more. Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25 becomes a four-day weekend if you take Friday, November 26 off, and Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11 offers the same with Friday, November 12. Keep in mind that not every employer observes every federal holiday, so check your own work schedule before planning a trip.
